Event Details

Salons are a time-honoured forum for discussion and exchange of ideas.  Vancouver +acumen is continuing this tradition by hosting a monthly series of salons inspired by the values and principles of Acumen Fund, at local restaurants who share our values and moral leadership within their communities.

THIS MONTH’S THEME:

This month’s conversation will be around the topic of: On Generosity

THIS MONTH’S VENUE:

We are excited to dine at Electric Owl a fusion Japanese Gastronomic experience in the burgeoning neighborhood of Strathcona. We’re particularly happy to support this local venture which was founded, managed and owned by a pair of Vancouver’s own entrepreneurs who previously started Canada’s largest biodiesel marketing group in Western Canada following their graduate studies at UBC’s Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability.

HOW IT WORKS:

Upon purchase of your ticket you’ll receive links to several short pieces of content in your Eventbrite receipt email. Please read/watch these prior to the event as the pieces will be used to fuel our conversation.

Tickets are on a first come first serve basis and are limited to 20 seats for a more intimate evening.

Your Salon ticket includes your choice of appetizer and entree prepared by the fabulous chefs at Wildebeest.

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requests when we ask you during ticket registration.

Drinks, desserts, and additional items are available for purchase during the Salon.

More info can be found at: Vancouver For Acumen – Salon

Whether it’s your first or 8th Salon, you’ll be in good company with first timers and those who have attended past discussions. There are no right or wrong answers and we’re not trying to solve problems by the end of each night. The purpose of the Salon is simply to have a great conversation with really interesting people. Vancouver +acumen volunteers will be at each table to help guide the conversation around our theme.

We look forward to seeing you at the Salon on Tuesday, February 26th and to many great conversations there.
